The diegesis is developed in three areas: space, time and characters. In the time of Plato and Aristotle's concept of diegesis was opposed to mimesis ( MIME: imitation ). A narrator relates what do the characters in the diegesis. Mimesis shows the actions of these. The word derives from the Greek noun 'diéegeesis': narrative, explanation, exhibition.
