Dhal , is a Sanskrit language term that means skinned or peeled legume. It is the name of a typical Hindu dish, based on vegetables or legumes. One of the most common is with lentils and coconut milk. They are also called dal or daal. There is also the term Dahl. This is a Swedish surname. Surname of a great Swedish Physician and Botanicist named Anders Dahl (to which was dedicated the genus Dahlia and so is called the national flower of Mexico).
