Eclecticism ( from the Greek eklegein, 'choose' ) philosophy is the school of thought which is characterized by choosing ( without certain principles ) philosophical concepts, views, ideas and assessments among the other schools who assume that they might be compatible in a coherent manner, combining them, and mixing them but the result can often be set without forming an organic whole.
