zontle 33
The word zontle is of Náhuatl origin, used to define a weight or measurement equivalent to a set of 400 units. Example: 400 corn, 400 chiles, etc. However, already in the colonial era, when cocoa was still the currency in the new Spain, the zontle was equivalent to 40 cocoas.
