In Algeciras, Merla is the fruit of the loquat tree, this is due to the proximity of the rock and its particular el Llanito language that was propagated in some words to our vocabulary, comes from the word MEDLAR which is LOQUAT in English, and of course is easier to pronounce than Medlar Merla. For something to the Algecirenos we are known as " Special ".
