The wide Street is one of the main streets of Leon, since it follows the ancient Roman route of the Legio VII, first settlement in the town. It is a pedestrian street that begins at its lower part in the Plaza de San Marcelo (Palacio de los Guzmanes and Casa Botines ) and at its highest just in the square of rule, where the Catedral.Hacia is the right side of the wide Street is the popular 40 wet neighborhood; location of tapas par excellence, the 41 largest Plaza; also, and on the left side the romantic barrio or Cid ( where the Collegiate Church of San Isidoro ).Broad Street is obliged passage of processions, cavalcades, and parades.Up by it, hand right is a small chapel of the Cristo de la Victoria, where often do stop S. Santa steps and even saetas are sung. It is the best place to see the processions.On both sides of the street are buildings of 2 or 3 storeys high, in the Netherlands there are shops and many bars and cafes, which tend to take out their terraces to the street. A place of much room for a drink, and very busy.
