1.-Effect apotropaico is the defense mechanism that the pseudoscience or superstition attributed to certain acts, rituals, objects or formulaic phrases, consisting of away evil or protect him or evil spirits or a malignant magic action. It comes from the Greek apotrepein ( ' move ' ) and is psychologically related to the Suppression of evil. Linguistically it is expressed through the euphemism against a taboo word. 2.-That magically conjures or prevents bad luck or the malignant influences 3.-Such a rite, a sacrifice, a formula, etc: which, due to their magical nature, it is believed that it drives away evil or conducive to good.Apotropaico is a beautiful - unjustly neglected - adjective that comes from the Greek apotrepein ( " move away " ) and generally indicates a gesture, expression, or an object that is used to ward off an evil magical influence... It is worth noting that though not picked in the 22 nd Edition of the DRAE, it comes in advance of the twenty-third edition of the dictionary...If we think about it carefully, we can find many words, gestures, and actions that can be considered apotropaicas in our daily work, as for example, touch wood, cross your fingers or say Jesus! After a simple sneeze...In addition, in the field of architecture, numerous symbols such as the cross, Fleur de lis, and los angeles meet an apotropaic function in buildings which decorate. Also, gargoyles instill the apotropaico effect of purity on the water and sources who preside over, and the Lions of the monuments and tombs are defenders of the character commemorated there buried...
