Plural of stew.Puchero ( from latin pultar­us and Eastern parts of puls - flour cooked in water, passing through " puche " ) It is the name of several types of cooked prepared traditionally in Spain (Andalusia, Canary Islands, ) Argentina, Colombia, Philippines, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, denominated thus by this being the container where this soup is cooked. In the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico is known as "Sancocho ".
