In Tabasco, Mexico, is called in this way to a similar in its structure to the litchi fruit while they are shaped by an outer shell that surrounds a large seed covered by a juicy, sweet and somewhat acid pulp. However, unlike the litchi, whose shell is red, the gualla this is green and completely smooth. At the same time, the pulp, which is white, in the litchi in the gualla is a colour similar to the salmon or melon.
