"Faun". From the Latin "faunnus". 1 . In Roman mythology he was one of the most popular deities. Demigod of the fields and forests, half man half goat (human from the upper part of the body to the waist, with the presence of horns on the head and goat from the waist to the feet in the form of hooves), protector of the herds, which he made more fertile and defended them from the attacks of vermin. 2 . A lascivious, lustful man with an excessive appetite or desire for carnal pleasures.
