AHUATLAN, is a village of the Municipality of Zapotlán, in the State of Jalisco, according to the ancient inhabitants the root of the word is derived from the old Nahuatl and means place of Thorns or derived from the root ahuatl used it to designate the ajuates , which are very small thorns that exist in the fruit of the tunas that are the product of Mexican nopalets, the ajuate as small spine exists in other plants such as sugar cane, in one bush that call them buckles, and stick on the clothes of people who c amine by the virgin mountains. THE CHEMICAL IMPLEMENTS USED IN THE CURRENT AGRICULTURE HAS ENDED WITH MANY OF THESE PLANTS.
