Escoriado is the verb participle escoriar; in medicine chafing, spend, or remove the skin means that the skin has been damaged or irritated by being in constant contact with an object, such a zipper, a rough fabric, a rope or another object. Sometimes the escoriado, if prolonged, can end in a significant wound. Also violent and incessant scratching can cause skin excoriation.
