define q is prophecy, is incorrectly written and it should be written as "prophecy" being its meaning: Of Greek etymology: propheteía propheteias ( pro-phemi: predict ): prediction, prophecy. In the monotheistic religions ( Judaism, Christianity, Islam ) He is considered a gift that have some people, the prophets or messengers of God to predict the future normally related to collective salvation. In the polytheistic religion of Greece and Rome responses on individual or collective future that some gods gave through the mediums or the sibyls were oracles.

Prophecy is a concept that comes from the latin, although its more remote origin is found in the Greek language. It's the supernatural gift that allows to know the future or distant things by inspiration of God. The term is also used to name the predictions made in accordance with this gift.
