( Of the lat. )( declamatio, - onis ). 1. f. action of Declamation. 2. f. prayer written or uttered in order to exercise in the rules of rhetoric, and almost always on faked or supposed subject. 3. f. sentence or discourse. 4. f. discourse pronounced with too much heat and vehemence, and particularly harsh invective against persons or things. 5. f. say or recite in theatre art.
