It's another way to call cuiso, curí, guinea pig or guinea pig. The term is used in Colombia and Ecuador. The word is of Quechua origin. In Puerto Rico it is called g.i. and in Costa Rica quilo. Its scientific name is Cavia porcellus and belongs to the family Caviidae .
