CUPROLYTIC Copper age from the Greek jalkos, 'copper' and lithos, 'stone'. Also called eneolithic because copper is called aeneus in Latin. It is between the Neolithic, with which the stone age ends, and the Bronze Age. With the cuprolitic begins the age of metals, when man invents metallurgy.
