Meaning of cultilocuente

furoya

cultilocuente
  77

It refers to an eloquence that abuses cultured voices. . . or cultures. From what I was reading, the first time it appeared was in a translation of "The Precious Ridiculouss", by Moliére, and where he said bel sprit in French ended up as 'cultiloqueente', instead of using altiloqueente, which already existed in Spanish.

John Rene Plaut

CULTILOCUENCE . Faculty of speaking or writing effectively to delight, move or persuade, regarding cultural topics such as art, painting, sculpture, literature, philosophy or universal history.
