Meaning of crizar

John Rene Plaut

crizar
  54

CRIZAR in Chile : phonetic deformation by TRIZAR, very common until the 50s, especially among illiterate people. I am surprised to see this spelling again, perhaps only audible in some peasant villages of the mountain skirts. I am inclined to think of a spelling error by CROSS, because the U and I are adjacent letters on the qwerty keyboard.
