John Rene Plaut

crashgate
  29

CRASHGATE since the WATERGATE scandal in Washington during the tenure of Richard Nixon, in 1972, it is customary to put the suffix GATE as a synonym for great scandal. Thus, in Chile the Farmagate was the pharmaceutical collusion of prices, the papergate was the collusion for the toilet paper. In 2008 the Renault team Nelson Piquete accused of having been ordered to cause a crash during the Singapore F1 race, in order to benefit his teammate Fernando Alonso.
