The skull of newborns do not have all the seams attached, to allow for a time the growth of the brain. It is abnormal and slow growth or lack of growth of the top of a baby's skull. It occurs by a premature and abnormal closure of the sutures. This premature bonding or sealing of the skull bones does not allow proper development of the brain or this is very slow.
