Character and local Cantabrian leader, hero of the resistance of the Cantabrian people against the Romans in the first century BC. Some authors only consider him a famous North African thief.

Leader of ancient Cantabria, the emperor Augustus put a price on his head and it is said that upon learning of this, Corocotta presented himself before the emperor, thus showing his head and for it, claiming the reward, to which Augustus, surprised by his bravery, agreed.
