It is one of the common names that give in Venezuela a palm from which edible flours and oils are obtained. It is used to replace corn. It has the scientific name Attalea macrolepsis or Jessenia polycarpa . It belongs to the family Arecaceae. It is also called yagua, coroiha or coroibe.

COROBA type of fruit palm of the same name from which arepa is manufactured in the State of Bolivar in Venezuela. It is intended that cornmeal can be replaced from that fruit.
