It is one of the common names of a tree and its fruits. It is known by many endemic or vernacular names. The most widespread is guamo or chelele, but it is also called cuijinicuil, jinicuile, cuajiniquil, cajinicuile, aguatope, guama, mandraque or guaba. Its scientific name is Inga leptoloba or Inga Spuria. Synonym Inga edulis . It is of the Fabaceae family. Name of a non-venomous snake in Colombia. It is also known as mousetrap coral, false coral or coral snake. Its scientific name is Lampropeltis triangulum and it belongs to the family Colubridae. It has a very striking ring coloration. CORALILLO Inga spuria, commonly called BITZE, cuajiniquil, cuijinicuil, cuinicuil or paterna, nahuatlismo de cuauhicxinecuilli, "tree of crooked foot", for having one of its tips bent, or guamo, is a legume species whose appearance resembles a mimosa. It is cultivated for its large seeds covered with white, velvety and edible pulp. It is native to Central America, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, and has spread to other countries in South America.
