It is a native sport of the examining Plains, consisting of launch a bull on the run by a manga de coleo and a rider behind tries to reach him and overthrow him, just by holding it by the tail. Although the beef can give several turns on its backbone, very rarely is injured. Currently practiced in other countries such as Brazil, Mexico and Costa Rica.

In some regions of Colombia and Venezuela the coleo is an activity or sport in which a person on horseback chases a res, that can be a bull, a steer or a cow, to take it by the tail and knock it on the run.
