It is one of the common names of a plant of the family Solanaceae, which has edible fruits; it's from the same family of lulo or orange and similar. It is also named after tupiro or tupiro. Its scientific name is Solanum sessiliflorum. From its fruits you can make juices, nectars, jams, salads. It is considered in the Peruvian Amazon as a good substitute for tomato.
