In Chile it is one of the common names of a brown algae, which is also known as kollof, coyofe, coyoyo, coyoy, cachiyuyo, cochaguasca or cochahuasca. It's edible. Its scientific name is Durvillaea antarctica. It is very rich in Iodine. The word in Quechua language means sea legume.
