A troja is a supporting, an interlocking built by pickets or Palisades of wood and reeds, used to protect some food items. Its purpose is to keep the plant upright and avoid the fruits to touch the floor, so that fruit can hang, and make more effective growth. This fence is used in Venezuela by farmers, especially those dedicated to the cultivation of tomato. There is a large group of plants that need this technology. The most popular are the vines such as Ivy, clematis, trumpet, passion flower, partenocissus, jasmine, wisteria, climber rose but there are many more such as the shrub pyracanthas, forsythias, cotoneaster, etc. which are widely used for the realization of hedges or to create extensive plant masses vertically supported also on structural supports and even walls.Ornamental trees, at the time of planting, usually also require the support of a strong guardian to get its main trunk to grow during its first two years strong and straight as we wish, without the weight of your cup or prevailing winds damaged it.
