Plural of clan which means group of people United with great social cohesion by belonging to the same family or the possession of a common ancestor real or mythological. The word comes from the Gaelic " clann " that means " son ". Current media also refers clan as a group of people with great cohesion between Yes but not necessarily United by kinship, but by common projects that even, sometimes, are not legal, then forming as secret societies.
