I believe that the etymological meaning of Choba stems from the Quechua language of South American Indians and means a little bit of strand of hair. This may have progressed to mean a little bit of something. I learned the word from the French environmentalist Yann Arthur-Bertrand's admirable and touching documentary film called "Human" ( - or being 'human'). It comprised of short touching interview segments of different struggling people from different parts of the world. A lady from Western South America explained, "without any money, we survived helping each other 'choba-choba' in between neighbors, meaning 'you help me some, and I will help you some' as harvesting or cultivating.. I then looked up what I could find at the following website : https://garethhgeorge.wordpress.com/tag/marx/ (PS I am neither Marist nor belong to any party political group but try to defend people wit reason) “The term choba choba is a Quechua word that means ‘hair with hair’ (choba means ‘hair’ in Quechua Lamas). The significance of the meaning of choba-choba comes from the interweaving of hair braids that occurs during marriages. This notion is extended to the interweaving of people, communities and the land.” I am grateful for the explanation about the interweaving of hairs, and quickly understood that the interchanging of each strand of hair (when interweaving hair strands) lead to the term Choba-Choba, - strand for strand (of hair) and thence 'bit for bit' - You help me a tiny bit, and I will help you a little bit. I refer this explanation 'as is' although I do not endorse any party political party, being a non partisan person, I hope to unify and help raise consciousness through information and teaching. a forced system will never work, but only the raising of the spiritual consciousness and spirit of humanity could help empower the grassroots, and help leaders understand that all need to respect the basic right to justice for every members of Humanity. I have my own profound story to tell, and one day, God willing, I will tell it! Little by little, and I hope we could thus exchange our services !
 Used in US as well

"I may be in a helpless situation, and you may be too, but Choba-Choba, as friends or neighbors in between, we can help each other survive and overcome our difficulties. A Choba strand or piece of bread her, and a hand or piece hep there, we can make i"
