Meaning of chirimoya

In Colombia it is the name of a tree and its fruits. It belongs to the Annonaceae family. Her scientific name is Annona cherimola. The word cherimoya is of Quechua origin means of cold seeds (muya) (chiri). It differs from the anon by having a very soft, thin and fragile shell, in addition to lacking scales and on the contrary has small and continuous circular hollows. Its taste is also very exquisite.
