In Colombia it is one of the common names of an ornamental deciduous tree. It is also called jacaranda, pavito, gualanday, vanillo, gualancho. Its scientific name is Jacaranda copaia and it belongs to the Bignoniaceae family. It has blue or purple flowers and blooms in the summer. Name of a Colombian town belonging to the Department of Sucre.
