chatanates is incorrectly written, and should be written as "Chatanate" as meaning: Plural Chatanates of Chatanate or area of palma, is a basket made of palm leaves, where offerings are made to the dead, in the rites of Mexico. It is of pre-Hispanic origin and the chatanates are placed on the sides of the altar of offerings.
