plural of chasquiChasqui ( quechua: chaskiq or chaskij, " it receives and delivers " ) It was an official of the Organization Inca.Era the personal Messenger of the Inca, who used a relay system to deliver mensajes1 or objects. The term does not mean literally 'Messenger', since only they were called so ambassadors or envoys sent by authorities under the Tahuantinsuyo, called ( cachaq or cachaj ).Chasquis were young Cowboys and prepared physically since his youth to explore, through a relay system, extensive roads built by the Sapa Inca, because of them sometimes depended on to suspend military action in time or reinforcements arrived in a battle.It was always a pututu to announce his arrival, a quipu, which brought the information, a qepi in the back, where carried objects and parcels, a rod, a honda and on the head, a tuft of white feathers with a banner.In addition, the chaskiq or chaskij became the receiver of the traditional knowledge, ancestral, received on the part of the hamawt '' ( wise elderly ) to be delivered to a new receiver, and thus transmit knowledge in tightly, in order to preserve the essential principles of the Andean culture with the subjugation of Western civilization.The Spaniards who conquered the Inca Empire after 1532 were so impressed with the efficiency of the system of chasquis runners remained in the Viceroyalty of Peru.
