Carqueixa: ( alistana Word ) creeping shrub of yellow flowers and branches hard and irregularly winged, consumed by sheep tender and used mostly cattle bed with straw. In the Northwest area of the Iberian peninsula is considered a medicinal plant diuretic and useful for rheumatism and arthritis. A saying goes: sprouted carqueixa, pregnant lloba / carqueixa florida, calving lloba. They called it also carquesa, carqueja, chamosquina, lavacuncas, engordatoro and scientifically genista tridentata, belongs to the Fabaceae family. Burns very well to make fire when dry.
