It is the plural of camarina. It is the name of a shrub plant, which is also known as camarina, red Heather or Heath Portugal its scientific name is Corema album, belongs to the family Ericaceae (was formerly classified in the family Empetraceae). It is a plant endemic to the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula.
