It can be an augmentative of cauldron. In Colombia it is a surname of Spanish origin. It is also the name of a write sign ( ) that was used to mark a paragraph. Finally, calderón is also the name of a marine mammal of the dolphin family. It is also called a pilot whale. Its scientific name is Globicephala melas and belongs to the Family Delphinidae.
