In Colombia it is the name of two very important tree species. One is the Cytharexilum subflavecens, from the family Verbenaceae. We also call it quimulá, garagay, uruapo. The other is the Trichanthera gigantea, from the Acanthaceae family. It also receives the names of quiebrabarrigo, motherofagua, nacedero, suiban , canicero, fune, yátago. Both are very important for reforestation especially in water births.
