cacomite . ( Of the nahua cacómitl ). 1. m. plant of the family of the Iridáceas, a native of Mexico, ensiformes, and opposite leaves large Cup, usually red in the periphery and yellow flowers in the Center, but also red spots. The root is tuberculous and feculenta, and is eaten cooked.
