Bulnesia is the common name of several thorny shrubs with dry areas of Paraguay and northern Argentina. They are also called broom, retamo or calato. They produce wax in buds and also extracted from them an oil used in perfumery. It is also a genus of plants in the family Zygophyllaceae.
