Meaning of bogifobia

furoya

bogifobia
  10

Another spawn that wants to be a phobia name. It is supposed to be the adult fear of a character or imaginary being with which it is intended to scare children (such as, for example, the cuckoo), although it can be extended to ghosts, elves, urban or traditional legends. The name is formed by an apocope of the English bogeyman ("man of the bag, man of the sack") where bogey is written in various ways, and in addition to bag ("bag") may have a Celtic origin in boggart ("mischievous goblin, which they say goes to hang children"); with the suffix -phobia that is of Greek origin as it corresponds to these pathologies. And considering that classical mythology is full of fantastic creatures whose mission is to scare children who misbehave, cramming a piece of English word into this is nonsense. Perhaps the biggest objection to using ( p . eg . ) morphophobia is that 924; 959; 961; 956; 969; ( Mormo ) like all Greek child scarers is a female monster, because for Hellenic machismo, if it is bad, it has to be a woman.
