BATTERYGATE court case in which Apple was sued for illegal acts on the owners' iphone equipment, so that their batteries would lower their yields on older equipment in order to increase sales of their new models. Apple agreed to pay $25 to each iphone user worldwide, totaling more than $500 million. The name batterygate is a parody of the bully of the bully Watergate case, in which Richard Nixon had to resign from the presidency of the United States.
