Batanga was a musical genre created by the Cuban pianist Bebo Valdes in the mid-twentieth century in Cuba. The batanga much resembled the Pérez Prado mambo.

It is an outer frame of reeds to the gunwale of a boat to give greater stability to the sail. It is one of the names of an African language of the bantu group. It is also known as Noho, Nohu, Noku, Puku, Banoho, Banoo Bapuku. Spoken in Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon.
