It is another way of calling a brake pad in automotive mechanics. In botany it is one of the names given to a tree. It is also called balatá, ácana, ausubo, massarabanduba, maçaranduba or quinilla. Its scientific name is Manilkara bidentata and belongs to the Sapotaceae family.
