It is an indigenous people of the South of Colombia in the Department of Nariño. They are also known as Ahua, Ahua, Awa, Cuaiquer or Kwaiker. They are currently being displaced by the criminal action of Alias Guacho and drug cartels. About 90% of the population lives in the Colombian side and the minority become Ecuador Carchi and Esmeraldas provinces.
