Meaning of atlantropa

The correct term is Atlantropa. It was the name given to a project suggested by German Herman Sörgel, in which it was intended to make a dam at Gibraltar and another between North Africa and Sicily and the Italian boot to enclose that part of the Mediterranean. Book of the same German where described the project. The purpose would be to produce electrical energy.
