Meaning of ardilla

furoya

ardilla
  19

Little esciuromorfo rodent of the family Sciuridae vulgaris, which usually live in forests. The name is the diminutive of archaic Spanish harda, later on arda, that was the way to call it until well into the middle ages; squirrel is now lexicalizado and is understood as a positive way and not as a diminutive.

Anónimo

Mammal rodent, very lightweight and restless, about 20 cm long, excluding the tail, and reddish black color on the back and white belly: squirrels breed in forests.
