It is one of the common names of the tree also known as floramarillo, canaguate, guayacán and ipe. It is the national tree of Paraguay, where also say Tajy. It belongs to the genus Tabebuia and the family Bignoniaceae.
The araguaney (Tabebuia chrysantha ) also known with the names of guayacán and tajibo in Bolivia, is a native tree of the intertropical zone American dry forests. It is the national tree of Venezuela.
