Name of an ancient Syrian city of which today only ruins exist. He was also known as Pharnaké. Relative to Apama or in honor of Apama, she was the first wife of Seleucus I, also known as Nicator, ruler of Syria and Babylon in the time of Alexander the Great. Several cities founded by Seleucus and Antiochus bore that name.
