Ancylotherium : Genus of perisodactyl mammals in the Calicoterid family that lived during the Miocene period and part of the Pliocene.
It means crooked beast, crooked body beast. Hook shape. It was a group of extinct Miocene mammals, which belonged to the Family Chalicotheriidae. They were ancestors of the current horses.
