Basil . ( Del ár. Hisp. to the? abáqa, and this of the ar. clás. (do ? abaqah ). 1. f. annual plant of the family of the Labiadas, with ramosos and hairy stems of some three decimetres of height, leaves oblong, hairless and very green, and white, somewhat purple flowers. It has a strong aromatic odor and is cultivated in gardens. Basil wild greater. 1. f. clinopodio. Basil wild child. 1. f. alcino.
